Narrated with an original poem by Dario Stangl, the film is a gritty window into the work of Coopers at the Fishers Cooperage in East Glasgow and a daughter’s dedication for her father.
I wanted to capture the serene yet rugged beauty of snowflakes cascading down onto a cold, unyielding rock, and translate it into an aural experience that would mirror the stunning visuals. To be emotionally evocative, I wanted to produce organic instruments with a contemporary approach. This imbued the score with a raw, edgy quality but still familiar, unifying the contrasting elements of the delicate snowflake and the unyielding rock, in other words. . . the daughter and the father.
