About Darren Lim

Darren Lim is an Australian composer for film and a producer blending Neo-classical styles with cinematic, ambient and electronic music. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of writing for successful Australian feature films, short films and advertisements. His career began during his studies at The Australian Institute of Music in the early 2010’s.

Darren’s main passion is writing musical scores for diverse stories that are powerful, thought provoking and beautiful. His writing style is minimalist, poignant, lush and elegant; a fitting match to much of the dramatic films he has worked on. Darren has earned some recognition for his work such as a nomination for his ‘Little Boy Blue’ score in 2016 at the St Kilda Film Festival and a best original score win for his ‘Campesinos’ score in 2019 at the Made in the West Film Festival.

Darren is currently writes from his studio in Sydney Australia. He is also working on his debut album of neo-classical solo piano works and ambient music.
